Welcome to the booking page for India Dog Field Tours 2025! I am so excited to introduce you to all the dogs here and have a memorable experience together! The agenda for the tours is to have a little bit of tourism and a lot of dog learning!
Tour Dates
We will be conducting four tours in 2025 to able to accommodate as many dog enthusiasts as possible!
Tour 1 Jan 10 2025 Jan 21 2025 (maximum 16 attendees)
Tour 2 Jan 24 2025 Feb 4 2025 (maximum 16 attendees)
Tour 3 Feb 7 2025 Feb 18 2025 (maximum 16 attendees)
Tour 4 Feb 21 2025 March 4 2025 (maximum 16 attendees)
Tour Route
Start - Mumbai (1 night)
The India tour starts in Mumbai (Bombay). It has great connectivity and plenty of options to fly into from US and Europe.
In Mumbai, we will spend just one day - primarily with the intention to decompress after a long travel and get acclimatised to India. It can be pretty overwhelming and we want to take it easy on the first day. There will be light sightseeing and observing dogs in the day and plenty of opportunities for everyone to overcome jetlag.
Next stop - Pune (4 nights)
On the second day of the tour, we take a short 4 hour drive to Kapil's home town - Pune. This is where we will do the maximum dog observations, meet very interesting dogs and people who work with dogs. We will also do a short hike to a fort where we are likely to be accompanied by free living dogs. The hike is easy and not challenging.
In Pune, Kapil will also host everyone for a dinner party and you all can get to meet his three dogs - Kaiser, Cleopatra and Jasmine.
Next stop - Goa (3 nights)
From Pune, we take a short 1 hour flight to Goa - a small state in the south of India. We will be staying by the beach with plenty of opportunities to unwind and observe beach dogs (Kapil's favourite dogs).
Next stop - New Delhi (3 nights)
From Goa, we take a 2 hour flight to India's captial city - New Delhi. In the city, we will observe dogs living under various stressors (some even political) and interact with communities who are striving extremely hard to maintain coexistence between humans and dogs.
Day Trip - Agra
While in New Delhi, we will spend one day to travel to Agra by train (2.5 hour journey) to visit The Taj Mahal and observe the dogs in and around the palace. We will also visit other monuments in Agra and return the same evening.
Final Day - Delhi
On the last day of the tour, we will have a final briefing session where we exchange our learnings, experiences and stories.
Pending process
Beyond the dogs, tourist sites and food, we want to provide maximum benefit to all attendees.
CEUs - we will be applying to get all attendees CEUs
Citizen science project - we will be working with a university to conduct a short citizen science project as a voluntary participation to contribute towards a research project on the lives of free living dogs.
Costs
We're able to offer two prices for all attendees.
Double occupancy (all hotels) - $1600 per person
Single occupancy (all hotels) - $2000 person
What is included in the price?
The price includes all of the following:
Stay
- 3 star hotels or better at every city with breakfast
Travel within India
- Airport pick up and hotel drop at Mumbai
- Bus / Train from Mumbai to Pune
- Flight from Pune to Goa
- Flight from Goa to Delhi
- Train from Delhi to Agra
- Train from Agra to Delhi
- Mini bus in every city for local travel
- Transport to Delhi airport when tour ends
Tourism
- Tickets to Taj Mahal and other monuments and related activities
Safety
- Local guide / safety support
Local dog support groups
- Fees for local dog support groups to take us to the best dog observation sites
Taxes
- Price is inclusive of all taxes
What does the price not include?
The tour price does not include the following:
Travel
- Flight to India
- Flight out of India
We advise that you book your own flights as per your convenience. You should book your flight coming into Mumbai (where the tour starts) and flying out of New Delhi (where the tour ends). You have the flexibility to either arrive early or leave later if you want to spend more time in India.
Food
Food prices will vary largely on preferences and dietary restrictions. Hence we have decided to not include it in the price. We will still provide the best Indian food experience without compromising on hygiene. Based on individual preferences of food, drinks and snacks, the total cost of meals should fall between $100 to $250 for the entire tour.
Visa
$25 is the Indian visa fee for US citizens. Please check your embassy website for visa application process.
Insurance
Please purchase travel insurance of your choice.
Shopping
Shopping is pretty cheap but will be at your own expense.
Vaccinations
India is a rabies endemic country. Please follow guidelines as suggested by your health department to take relevant vaccinations before commencing your tour.
Emergencies
We hope there aren't any but any emergencies that may occur won't be covered by the tour organisers.
Payment plans
The India tour is for you and we understand coming up with a large payment may not be convenient. We are therefore offering a zero interest payment plan as follows:

Refund Policy
The spot reservation fee of $200 is non refundable.
Cancel until 31 July 2024 - Full refund (except for spot reservation fee, payment gateway fee, bank conversion fee)
Cancel until 30 September 2024 - 50% refund ((except for spot reservation fee, payment gateway fee, bank conversion fee)
Cancel after 30 September 2024 - 25% refund (except for spot reservation fee, payment gateway fee, bank conversion fee)
Cancel after 31 December 2024 - 0% refund
For people with physical disabilities
India is unfortunately not great with infrastructure for people with physical disabilities. Airports and hotels will have provisions but public spaces will be challenging to navigate. If you have concerns please write to me on kapil@getfloof.com.
Age requirement
We require all attendees to be adults and over the age of 18 to attend this tour.

Want to reserve but don't know which tour?
Our preference is that at the time of booking you know which tour you want to attend. But in case it's not possible to decide right away, select a tour that you are most likely to attend and write to me on kapil@getfloof.com regarding the same. Since tours will be based on first come first served, you might not get plenty of time to make a switch later.
